The Baviaanskloof is a remote and scenic mountain range with a diverse ecosystem. The reserve is home to a variety of wildlife, including baboons, leopards, buffalo and black eagles.  It is also an adventure enthusiasts' paradise, with 4x4, hiking and cycling trails being in abundance.

Aasvoelberg is highly recommended for the outdoor and nature enthusiasts.  The area features a number of trails which are a huge attraction for hikers and mountain bikers alike.  There is also a number of game that can be spotted in the area.  Enjoy the panoramic views of the entire area from the top of this mountain.  Aasvoelberg is one of the few places in the Karoo where coastal fynbos thrive.

Pierre Ferreira Hiking Trail is just outside the town and it takes you through some beautiful Karoo veld.  Two old forts that were used as lookout points in the Anglo-Boer War can be seen on this trail.  Once again an excellent choice for hiking or cycling enthusiasts. What would the town be without our own Willow Limo.  Enjoy seeing the places of interest on this donkey-drawn cart.
