Loxton - Riverine Rabbit geoglyph Thinking Path
(A geoglyph is a large-scale drawing or image made on the ground by arranging lines of stones, scratching the earth, etc., and often only fully visible from a distance or the sky.)
The Riverine Rabbit geoglyph in Loxton was made to promote awareness for the Riverine Rabbit and also includes a small depiction of a black-backed jackal.
If you turn into Loxton from the R63, on your left you will see the geoglyph. This is 104.5 meters (tail to toe) x 90 meters (ear to foot), which translates to a walkway of ±1097 meters for a brisk 25 minute walk.
Take the first street on the left and stop at the gate, it is not locked. Then you can calmly follow the stone path.
The bank rabbit is a shy rabbit that is currently on the red data list for endangered species. So if you observe him on your farm, please let the Endangered Wildlife Trust know by email: ewt@ewt.org.za.
