Merweville Landbouvereniging
The Merweville Boerevereniging, as it was known in 1947 when it was founded, took place due to a dynamic woman, Brechie Victor, who decided that the farmers should form an organisation. She was the convener, as well as the chairman of the VLV.
Since then, the name has changed to Merweville Landbouvereniging (MLV). The organization has had the interests of Agriculture and farmers, including workers, at heart all these years.
We are a proud association that currently represents 63 paid members.
We have just set up 4 security cameras around the town, for which each member contributed R3500. This is to secure our town and district against smuggling, drugs and theft. We plan to expand the process in the district as soon as we can obtain funds.
