Uniondale Town's name

The beautiful view is of the village of Uniondale, with Mannetjiesberg in the background. Like most towns in South Africa, the stories begin with the founding of a church. The people could not decide whether the church should be built on the Lyon or Hopedale farms. Then, the mother congregation in George proposed that they build the church between the 2 farms. That is how it happened, and from there, the name Uniondale was born.
