The Waterhole Rugby Museum

This is a very interesting museum that started out of passion. Barry Naude has been collecting rugby memorabilia since he was 10 years old. His focus is the history and development of rugby in our country. The museum is on his farm in an old dam that has been closed. Here are items such as the original toks that still have leather as spikes, the old provincial jerseys next to the new union jerseys, the emblems of different teams, and many more.

His knowledge is vast, and the dream is for someone with resources to help the museum move to a larger facility in a town so that more of the items can be exhibited and more people can appreciate our country’s rugby history.

He still wants to do research on the old coloured and black league teams. If anyone can help with information or more memorabilia, please feel free to contact him.

This museum is on a working farm, so please make arrangements a day in advance to visit.
