Rietmondspoort

Rietmondspoort is an unexpected surprise in the Karoo. On the R27 between Calvinia and Brandvlei, the first thing you notice after a good rainy year will be a dam as wide as the eye can see. The body of water attracts a variety of bird species. And on the drive to your accommodation, you might see a herd of camels too.

There are three accommodation options. The old original farmhouse has been nicely restored and offers sleeping space for 4 people. The kitchen has a convenient indoor braai. Then there is a camping area for those who have their own tent or caravan. The other option is that you can sleep in a refurbished old railway caravan. There are 6 carriages and sleep for 14 people. There is also a communal kitchen, bathrooms and braai areas are there for you.
