Klara Majola gedenkteken

The story of Klara Majola (Violet Jansen) from the farm De Eike in the Witzenberg Valley is a true account of a young girl's bravery in search of her blind father. Through the memorial erected in the town, the Ceres Togryers Museum not only honors the legacy of such courage but also seeks to rediscover the forgotten heritage of the Ceres environment for future generations to both appreciate and remember. This memorial creates a meaningful link to the past for the community and visitors alike.

There is also a bronze statue of Klara on display in the museum, created by the famous artist  Varenka Pascke. (Photo with blue snow flakes on)
